Troubleshooting

The Buyer's Agreement documentation is made available as an Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format) file and is viewed using Adobe Reader (free), Adobe Acrobat Standard or Adobe Acrobat Professional.

There are different ways to download and open a PDF file.

METHOD 1 (Save File to Computer Hard Drive)

1)  Begin to download the Buyer's Agreement by right-clicking (click far right button on your mouse) on the image below and selecting "Save Target As" (Internet Explorer) or "Save Link As" (Netscape, Mozilla/Firefox) from the pop-up menu.

Click Here to Download Buyer's Agreement

(RIGHT-CLICK here)

4)  The Buyer's Agreement will begin downloading. A Save dialog box will appear.  Select a directory where you want to save the Buyer's Agreement file and click "Save".

5)   When the Buyer's Agreement download is complete, click "Open" to view/print the Buyer's Agreement from within Adobe Reader. (If no "Open" button appears, you will need to open the file directly from its saved location.)

METHOD 2 (Configure Adobe Reader as a Helper)

It is possible to click on the link marked "Download Buyer's Agreement" and have the Buyer's Agreement displayed within your browser (i.e. Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher, America Online 6.0 and higher, and Netscape Navigator 4.5 to 4.77 and 6.1 and higher).

However, because certain builds of Internet Explorer, AOL and Netscape Navigator do not properly display PDF files, a variety of problems can occur.

These problems include:

  • Error message "File does not begin with %PDF"

  • Error message "Error reading xref entry"

  • A blank screen appears

  • A small document image appears in the upper left corner

All these problems can be resolved by configuring Adobe Reader as a helper rather than as a plug-in by following these steps:

1) Start the Adobe Reader program. There should be an icon for Adobe Reader on your desktop.  If not, go to Start>Programs, and look for "Adobe Reader" or "Acrobat Reader".

In Adobe Reader 6.0 and higher for Windows, click             Edit>Preferences.  Select "Internet" from the column on the left. Uncheck the box near the top that says "Display PDF in Browser". Click OK. Close Adobe Reader.

In Acrobat Reader 5.x for Windows, click             Edit>Preferences>General. Select Options from the column on the left.  Uncheck the box near the top that says "Display PDF in Browser".  Click OK. Close Acrobat.

In Acrobat Reader 4.x for Windows, click              File>Preferences>General.  In the Options section, uncheck the box (click and remove the tick) near the bottom right that says "Web Browser Integration". Click OK.  Close Acrobat.

In Acrobat Reader 5.x for Mac, click Acrobat Reader>Preferences>Options and uncheck "Allow Fast Web View".

In Acrobat Reader 4.x for Mac, click Edit>Preferences>General. Select Options from list on the left and uncheck "Allow Fast Web View".

Note: The next time you select a link to a PDF file, a dialog box will prompt you to specify what to do with the file. If you select "Open this file from its current location," your web browser will open the PDF file in Adobe Reader. If you select "Save this file to disk," your web browser will save the PDF file to your hard disk, from where you can open it later.

2)  After making the above changes from within Adobe Reader, click on the image below.

Click Here to Download Buyer's Agreement

(If clicking on the above link fails, you may need to try again after restarting your web browser or your computer, so that the changes made in Adobe Reader take effect. Also, you may need to temporarily change your web browser's security level from "HIGH" to "MEDIUM" or "LOW". Pop-up blockers may need to be temporarily disabled as well.)

3)  You should get a dialog box asking what you want to do with the file. Click "Open". Adobe Reader will open in a new window and display the Buyer's Agreement.

4) The Buyer's Agreement and other PDF files should open in your web browser every time you wish to access them in the future, without the need to repeat these steps.
